Pricing
If you haven’t had a need to engage a lawyer or consultant before, or have had mixed experiences in the past, you might be wondering whether it’s an affordable option, or may just want to get an idea of the ballpark before you engage with us. We’ll work with you to identify the fee structure that best suits your needs and provides the most certainty for your business. We’ll always welcome your inquiry, even if you don’t know yet whether you want to go ahead.
Fixed fee
This option is best for projects with a clear scope – for example, updating your employment contracts, developing and delivering a training package, undertaking an investigation or preparing a response to an unfair dismissal claim.
If you let us know what you’re after, we’ll provide you with a fixed fee and time estimate for the work. If the scope of work changes, we’ll discuss this with you up front before any extra costs are incurred.
Monthly retainer
This option is great for those who are looking for a bit of extra back up on a regular basis and like the idea of being able to seek advice at any time, while still having cost certainty.
We’ll work with you to identify the level of support you’re likely to require in the near future and land on an approximate number of hours per month to service those needs. We'll then arrive at a monthly retainer, enabling you or your nominated personnel to contact us directly at any time, without having to seek management approval or being worried about being charged in six-minute intervals for every phone call or email.
Hourly rate
An hourly rate arrangement might be preferable if you can’t predict where something will end up (such as litigation), or because you’d prefer a bit more flexibility and don’t want to be locked in - or just have a one-off query.
In these cases, we’ll still give you a detailed costs estimate, and review this as we go along to avoid any surprises at the end.
